Monetary Policy and Innovation During Recession in Indonesia

The COVID-19 pandemic affected global economic growth, including Indonesia's recession for four quarters from Q2 2020 to Q1 2021. This study uses Schumpeter's growth theory analyze the interest rate policies and innovations that encourage in Indonesia long term. a quantitative approach with Auto Regressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model variables of GDP, BI rates, consumption, innovation, investment credit. results show Bank accommodative policy low-interest rates during due Covid-19 positively influences growth. However, long-term, must compete other countries capital flows Indonesia. findings innovation has not yet Indonesia, but fosters accelerate technology transfer developed through foreign investment. Therefore, support Government provide incentives tax breaks business actors developing R&D will accelerating
